When one cart goes empty just pull all 8 carts refill/reset and good to go again. It gives you more control over the refilling process. Using a chip resetter is the best way to go.

I would skip using the OEM carts as you can't mix 3rd party ink and OEM ink at the same time in the printer, the colors will be way off. You can purchase 8, 16 oz bottles of OCP ink for about the cost of 8 new OEM carts and these 16 oz bottles give you about 30-40 refills per bottle, OCP also sells 4 and 8 oz bottles. OCP matching of OEM colors is a little less than IS, but as I stated no 3rd party ink is going to match OEM colors so you need the custom printer profiles. I have evaluated OCP, IS, and HobbiColors ink for the PRO9000 and found the OCP ink has the best fade resistance (I only use OCP). OCP ink is another recommended ink and is very cheap. IS ink matches the OEM color well, but not perfectly you will need to generated custom ICC printer profiles for all your ink/paper combinations to get great colors. You can then buy the Image Specialists ink from the same site.

In the meantime, the only workaround is to switch off colour management in Photoshop Elements and let the printer handle the colour management. When the print dialogue comes up, under the Color Correction heading, change the pull down menu to 'ColorSync'. This has been mentioned in the past on this forum and the Adobe forums. To quote Kurt Lang's reply to a postee on the Leopard forum who was having the same problem with PSE6.The Photoshop Elements team are aware of the problem and are working with Apple and the printer manufacturers to get this to work correctly. PAHU wrote:There is a known issue with PSE6 where the images are double color managed. If the options below that for Color Balance and Intensity are not grayed out, make sure they are at the center positions (no effect).Pahu.
